Mineral wool Insulation (Rockwool)
This Scarborough custom house received R22 Rockwool mineral wool insulation on the 2nd floor, main floor, and basement exterior walls. An approved 6 mil vapour barrier was installed to all exterior walls and the 2nd floor ceiling along with acoustical sealant and blue sheathing tape to ensure no air leakage occurs over time. The skylight walls were also covered with mineral wool insulation to ensure the entire envelop of the house is protected against air leaks.
