Signal 1:
Water, mould, pest contamination in the attic
- In this situation, first we will remove all or partial existing insulation and then install fresh new blown cellulose of fiberglass loose-fill
Signal 2:
Current insulation levels are below R60
- Ontario Builder Code calls for R60 insulation in your attic, which is 17” of cellulose and 20” of fiberglass loose-fill. If your current levels are lower than this then its time for a top-up (add-on) service.
Signal 3:
Age of your current insulation
- Old insulation loses its quality over the years due to infection by water, mould, and pest. This causes diminishing insulation peformance, resulting in increasing monthly utility bills to the homeowner. In this situation we highly recommend adding fresh new insulation to the attic space.
